So this weekend coming up I'm supposed to ride down with my bf to go visit meet his parents. Part of me is super freaking excited that we're growing enough in our relationship that he wants me to meet them. But then there I am thinking about how his parents are pretty conservative and down right country ( his words not mine) I've met other guys parents before. But they were like my parents open and liberal. What was meeting his parents like for you ? would you have the same concerns as I ?

I met his mom before we started dating and I had similar concerns about meeting his dad (same situation - he shared horror stories about his dad saying some racist stuff etc). Both of his parents are pretty conservative and ignorant (this includes with regard to race), but they're polite to me and that's all I can ask for really because I can't change their minds. I am nice to them, I keep it surface level and realize that I will never have a really close relationship with them. I'm here for their son, not them.
