If anyone likes zombie/horror stuff then I highly recommend the book World War Z by Max Brooks. I will note that the book is very different than the movie though (which both are great imo). The book is written as more of a collection of memories from different survivors across the globe and their experiences, it's not really focused on one person and it doesn't have the same ending as the movie.
I also just finished Day by Day Armageddon and Origin to Exile by J. L. Bourne which are also really good imo. It's a 3 part series that mainly focuses more so on one main character throughout the story with a few other characters that he meets along the way during the zombie apocalypse. It has a good storyline and many twists and turns that keep you engaged yet nervous to turn to the next page. Each book is about 200-ish pages so if you're a quick reader you'd probably finish it in a day.
