Three years ago, I fell in complete love with a singer named Pheobe Snow. She had such a unique, indie sound that stuck with me and I was so surprised she never got any play! Pheobe make a lot of music in the 70's. Her song "Poetry Man" is her biggest song that hit mainstream, however, most of her other music seems forgotten. I personally love her 1976 album, "Second Childhood". The album is a combination of folk, jazz and slight country. I was extremely sad to find she died the same year I discovered her. She was like the Alice Smith or Valerie June of that day. Everyone should check her out.
