I was talking to my friend the other day and we were talking about where we see ourselves in ten years. As a young child i have always been fond of aristocracy in europe, middle east, africa and asia.
My friend is all about that daring love. You know, the biker dude with all the tattoos or the amazing talented painter who lives in the south of france where its just daring young love. I dont see it, i mean i watch movies fixated around that type of love and i adore it but the story kind of ends when they are young? There is no older happier ending.
I replied i have been admiring women lately such as Emma Watson and Michelle Obama and let me tell you these 2 individuals are classy, smart and powerful independent women. When michelle met obama he was not super rich, presidential candidate she fell in love with a man who had the ambition, the attributes to do great things one day.
My mum has always had this mindset that the man i marry must NOT BE A LIABILITY, therefore i see that as not being poorer than me. Now i do not mean this in only the money aspect, but have a greater wealth in creativity, ambition, intelligence. I have seen it FIRST HAND throughout my life family members attach themselves to someone because of the 'young love' or lust aspect and that whole movie type of love. I do not buy it!
When i meet someone, i dont expect them to be some arab prince their aspirations, intellect must be bigger than mine. They must have the drive to be where they need to be and not just the whole relationship built on lust.. im sorry 'love'.
Honestly, i never see those relationships end well, like beauty the spark fades. Where as a mans prospects and his achievements weigh big on my mind when looking for a partner.
the question i guess is.. does I come across as a gold digger ?
