Yes, just recently actually.
It was a cute guy me and my friend walked past a cedar point and when we walked back he was still there. In the area he was in, it looked like a stage was being set up so I just randomly asked what the event was for and that was basically it since I was leaving soon.
Whenever I approach someone I don't know I just ask questions like "Do you know what this event is?" "Are you here for ___ too?" "Have you tried ___?" etc. lol it's harmless and either the conversation can go further or if nothing happens from it then theres no embarrassment.
